Employee Series of Virtual Workshops
Strengthening Your Resilience
Research has shown that high levels of resilience can deliver valuable outcomes for individuals, helping people recover faster from difficulties, reduce stress, improve job performance, and sustain higher levels of wellbeing and fulfillment at work. Resilience has implications for organizations as well, especially during times of change. Having teams who are resilient during times of stress, and who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances, can benefit everyone. Leaders and employees alike must learn skills to be able to thrive in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. This session presents a model of resilience that supports participants in recovering from setbacks and rebounding to higher levels of success. The business-focused content supports participants in enhancing their personal resilience so they can strengthen their overall wellbeing and adaptability, which drives more innovative solutions and better business results. The program also provides people leaders with tools and tips for supporting their teams in becoming more resilient.
Resilience is a way of thinking and not a fixed trait that is ‘hard wired’ in us. Just like a muscle, we can practice and strengthen our patterns of thinking, preferences and behaviors. Enhancing Virtual Team Collaboration & Communication
As we adapt to our new work environment where collaboration and communication must occur virtually, team members must be able to engage, with each other in ways that increase trust, collaboration, respect and inclusion of diverse employees.
While the principles of strong collaboration and communication don’t change, what is new is how to demonstrate them appropriately and effectively in a virtual environment. Employees must be able to leverage technology properly to ensure they are building trust, leveraging verbal and non-verbal communication appropriately and being inclusive.
In this workshop we focus on the characteristics of high performing teams and how to demonstrate those qualities while working virtually. We explore behaviors that build or erode trust and ways to increase collaboration. We then explore key principles for effective communication. In small groups, participants discuss techniques to improve team collaboration and communication by selecting the right technology for the right outcome. Participants will also be able to layer on a generational perspective to their communication to ensure they are engaging their diverse colleagues.

Navigating the Business Environment
Organizations today are facing a unique workforce challenge; engaging a multigenerational workforce. Your workplace is comprised of multiple generations; Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Millennials, with Gen Zs as students, interns and new graduates. These identities translate into different values, expectations, and behaviors at work, which can lead to misunderstanding and confusion. The youngest generation often does not have a frame of reference as to the values, expectations and behaviors that are the foundation of an organization’s culture. Across all levels of career experience, it is important for Gen Z and Millennials to understand the expectations the organization has of them, and the impact workplace culture has on creating an engaging work environment for all. This understanding increases young employees’ abilities to succeed within your environment and work effectively both with their managers and their colleagues. This is particularly important now during COVID-19 as we on-board early-in-career employees virtually and ensure they can effectively integrate with their new teams and build strong relationships with colleagues and managers.
This highly interactive workshop educates Gen Z and/or Millennials about the values, expectations and behaviors of the other three generations (Traditionalists, Baby Boomers and Gen Xers). New research from our Generational Pandemic Survey will be incorporated to highlight how each generation has responded to COVID-19 from an employment perspective.
Young employees explore how their views and perspectives may differ from those of their colleagues and managers. We discuss the differences between intent and impact and what behaviors senior leaders may perceive negatively. We then explore how to be an active participant in creating an engaging organizational culture and how to take a collaborative approach with colleagues and leaders through effective virtual communication and collaboration.
